Reading homework is given 4 nights a week (Monday-Thursday). Students are to bring a book of their choosing or their Treasures book home as directed by the teacher. These books should come home in the student's reading bag along with their "RED" (Read Every Day) journal for parents to fill out. It is the student's responsibility to put their book in their plastic bag and place it in their back pack each day. The books should be returned to school the following day!
Tuesday is our library day! If the student is taking an Accelerated Reader test, he/she can check out an AR book along with another "fun" book of their choosing on this day.
Math Homelinks are given 2-3 times a week. Students may receive Homelinks of the same theme (i.e. time, money, place value, addition/subtraction, etc.) more than others because these are important concepts that are continally highlighted in 1st grade.
*Both reading and math homework are meant to help reinforce and practice what is being done in the classroom. All of the extra support and practice your child receives at home is greatly appreciated and helps support their academic growth!
